Arjun Menon is the founder and host of Equity in Focus, a podcast dedicated to exploring pressing issues around equity in healthcare, education, and beyond. A high school senior passionate about the intersection of medicine, science, education and policy, Arjun has gained experience by shadowing doctors and volunteering in diverse healthcare settings. His experiences include spending over 100 hours observing care delivery at an medical center in the Bronx, an ophthalmology practice in Armonk, NY, and a multispecialty hospital in Westchester, NY and Kerala, India. These experiences gave him firsthand insight into the stark differences in healthcare access and equity across communities, reinforcing his commitment to addressing disparities.

Beyond his passion for healthcare, Arjun is also deeply committed to his volunteering efforts with Neighbors Link, an organization that supports immigrants and economically disadvantaged communities. Inspired by the needs he saw while volunteering, Arjun launched a STEM and social studies enrichment program, EnrichMe for young students, which provides them with engaging learning experiences. His goal is to foster curiosity and growth in these children and increase their odds for personal and academic success. In 2023, Arjun received the presidential volunteer service award and a congressional recognition for his volunteering efforts.

Through his podcast and community efforts, Arjun strives to empower youth to engage with issues of equity and inclusion, bridging gaps whether it’s in medicine, education, or public policy, Arjun is committed to making a meaningful impact and building a more equitable world.
